Palatine, IL is a city in Cook County, Illinois, and is one of Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs. With a  population of around 68,557, it is the seventh-largest community in Cook County and the 18th-largest in the state of Illinois. This village is known for its nature and parks, and proximity to Chicago’s transportation system. It’s pretty quiet here – with a nice downtown, cute shops, and great places to eat.  At 13.76 square miles in size and roughly 26.24 miles from Chicago, residents say it’s a wonderful place to raise a family.

The Village has 2 separate park districts: the Palatine Park District, and the Salt Creek Rural Park District. 

Both programs have endless opportunities for fun & recreation, and cover everything from aquatics to athletics, from camps to cultural arts, as well as golf, gymnastics, fitness, horsemanship, preschool, and so much more. The parks they offer are fantastic and are state of the art. There are 3 aquatic centers within the park system: The Birchwood Pool, The Eagle Pool and the Family Aquatic Center.
